We worked with HMS Networks to create the Ixxat Cockpit, a Windows app that simplifies the connection of industrial devices and improves user experience. HMS Networks is a global leader in industrial ICT and provides solutions that connect industrial equipment to software and systems, enabling smooth communication in factories, buildings, and industrial settings.
What is Ixxat Cockpit?
Ixxat Cockpit allows users to:
– Access information about Ixxat hardware and software
– Install and update drivers
– Download manuals and firmware
– Get customer support
This Windows platform helps industrial equipment manufacturers and users, such as factory owners and system integrators, easily manage their HMS solutions, improving efficiency and integration.
Elder’s Design Process
Our team focused on making the Ixxat Cockpit user-friendly and visually appealing while following the HMS Global Design System and the Win Fluent UI3 Design System. The process included:
– UX Phase: Creating wireframes and organising the user journey for easy navigation
– UI Phase: Designing high-fidelity visuals with light and dark mode options and building an interactive prototype
– Graphic Design: Making an engaging graphic for the Ixxat Cockpit interface
– Multilingual Adaptations: Adapting the user interface for German, French, Chinese, and Japanese users
Designing within set system rules was challenging. However, we created a user-friendly and visually consistent solution that matches the HMS branding and functionality. This project shows Elder’s UI/UX design skills for industrial software, ensuring complex systems remain simple, efficient, and accessible globally.
